Hello everyone! I'd like to introduce you to someone truly wonderful. Her name is Chelsea.
Wow! This winter session was a real treat for me for a handful of reasons. First of all, it wasn't a typical portrait/lifestyle shoot. Chelsea had approached me asking if I would take some photos of her for her blog, before she packed up a few suitcases of her belongings and moved from a little house out on the countryside of Eau Claire, to a big city out on the East Coast.
Second of all, this afternoon was--hands down--one of the most adventurous photo-shoots I've ever had the chance to do! Whether it was the fact we had to race back to my car every ten minutes to warm up because her legs & my fingers were frozen through (oh the joys of living in Wisconsin during the polar vortex!--A whole -42 degrees outside), or that my car got stuck in the snow for almost an hour as several Good Samaritans stopped to help and left after being unable to dig us out (It wasn't until a big ol' Ford F450 truck and a father/son duo pulled over that we were finally rescued!).
But at the end of the day, this is what happens when two creative minds come together! She had her outfit, props, hair, and location all planned out, and even sent me some photos for inspiration. (Man, do I feel spoiled when my clients have a clear & creative vision for the session as well!) So I hope you all enjoy the final product-- I know we sure enjoyed the journey!
Whether we're trudging through snow and freezing our little fingers, or sitting across the coffee shop table sharing a kettle of tea, I adore our what our friendship entails. Thanks for the memories!
